OverviewJoin to apply for the Psychologist Senior Grade role at Enable Ireland.We are seeking a highly-motivated Senior Psychologist (Clinical & Educational) to join our team in CHO1 Cavan CDNT. Contract Type: Permanent Full Time 1.0 WTE. Contract Hours: 35 hours per week. Salary Scale: €91,190 to €107,186 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to Long Service Increments. This pay scale is subject to increases in 2025 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations. Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.Overview of the post: The post holder will be responsible for the provision of psychology services, including assessment and intervention, to children and adolescents attending services in the region.ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will provide psychology services to children and adolescents, including assessment and intervention, within the region as part of Enable Ireland’s multidisciplinary team.Essential CriteriaEligible applicants must have a university degree or diploma (QQI level 8 equivalent) with Psychology taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject (1st or 2nd class). Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology, or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.Demonstrate competence in the Care Group/s applied for.Applicants must have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the postgraduate qualification and no less than two years full-time post-qualification experience as a professional psychologist. Years in excess of the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be counted towards the five years’ experience requirement.For clinical or counselling psychology: demonstrate 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements in health settings for the area applied (Disability - Child and Adult, Child Psychology, Adult Psychology) or at least 60 days or equivalent post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist. Note: combinations of supervised placement and supervised work experience within a single care group area totaling 60 days are not acceptable.For educational psychology: demonstrate 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements or post-qualification supervised work experience in health settings for the areas applied (Child Disability, Child Psychology).Must be a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in Children’s Disability.Be eligible to work in the state and hold a valid driving licence for within the state/jurisdiction with access to own transport to deliver services across a large geographical area.Desirable CriteriaPrevious experience in a senior post.Experience of inter-disciplinary team working.Skills and competencies with assessment and intervention for mental health needs as they present in children/young people with disabilities.Experience working with children aged from birth to 18 years with a range of disabilities (including physical disability, autism, learning disability) and their families.Experience and qualification in diagnostic work-ups including ASD, Developmental Delay and Intellectual Disability.What you need to knowIf you believe you would fit the role, please submit your application today.
