We’re working with a well-established, globally respected professional services organisation to appoint a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a backfill role within a mature IT function, suited to an experienced engineer who can hit the ground running in a complex, enterprise environment.
While this is initially a fixed-term engagement, there is potential for longer-term opportunity depending on business requirements.
The role
This is a hands-on senior position focused on the stability, performance and resilience of the core infrastructure estate across on-prem and cloud environments. You’ll operate as a senior escalation point, work closely with security and wider IT teams, and contribute to both BAU and improvement initiatives.
Key areas include:
Enterprise server, storage and virtualisation platformsHybrid infrastructure (on-prem and Microsoft Azure / M365)Backup, disaster recovery and business continuityPerformance monitoring, troubleshooting and optimisationSupporting infrastructure projects and system enhancementsProducing and maintaining clear technical documentation

About you
5+ years’ experience in a senior infrastructure or systems engineering roleStrong hands-on background with VMware, Windows Server, Microsoft core technologies and enterprise hardware/storageComfortable operating autonomously in a senior capacityExperience in regulated or professional services environments is advantageous
