A well-established, regulated e-money institution operating at scale across the UK and Ireland is looking for an experienced Head of Risk to join its leadership team.
This is a high-impact second-line role in a growing, close-knit business. You’ll own the risk management framework end-to-end, from risk appetite and RCSA through to board reporting and CBI engagement, and play a key part in shaping a proportionate, commercially aware risk culture as the firm continues to scale.

What you’ll be doing
Own and maintain the firm’s risk framework, risk appetite statement, RCSA and KRI programme — proportionate and aligned to CBI expectations.Lead risk identification, assessment and monitoring across the business, covering operational, technology, financial crime and third-party risk.Represent the risk function in all CBI supervisory engagements — inspections, thematic reviews and information requests.Perform risk assessments on new products, partnerships, outsourcing arrangements and material business changes.Deliver concise, insight-driven risk reporting to the ARC and Board — decision-useful MI, not data volume.Run scenario analysis, stress testing and emerging risk workshops; lead the firm’s response to risk events.Embed risk awareness across the business through training, engagement and visible leadership.
What we’re looking for
Risk management experience in financial services — payments, e-money or fintech strongly preferredStrong knowledge of the CBI regulatory framework: EMR, PSR, PSD2, Fitness & Probity, DORA and Outsourcing guidanceConfident, credible communicator with direct experience engaging regulators, boards and senior stakeholdersCommercially minded — you understand that proportionate risk management enables growth and are a trusted partner to the business, not a blockerAble to build and operate a lean, effective risk function without over-engineering controls or processes
