Location: Dublin or Wicklow About the Company Our client is a well-established construction contractor delivering a wide range of commercial projects across Ireland. With a strong reputation for quality, safety, and efficient project delivery, they are now seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in either Dublin or Wicklow (depending where the candidate is based) Role Overview The Intermediate Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for supporting the commercial management of multiple commercial projects from tender through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity for a QS looking to step into a more autonomous role while receiving mentorship from an experienced commercial team. Key Responsibilities Pre-Contract Assist in the preparation of accurate cost estimates and tender submissions. Conduct detailed material take-offs and bill of quantities. Engage with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing and quotations. Support value engineering exercises to optimise project costs. Post-Contract Manage and monitor project costs, budgets, and financial forecasts. Prepare and submit interim payment applications and variation claims. Assess, negotiate, and agree subcontractor accounts. Track and report commercial performance across multiple sites. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and verify valuations. Support cost control, risk management, and cashflow reporting. Assist in preparing and agreeing final accounts. Skills & Experience Required 35 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Irish construction industry. Strong background in commercial construction projects (e.g., office, school, retail, mixed-use). Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of Irish construction contracts (e.g., GCCC, RIAI). Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Excel and QS software packages. Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently while supporting senior QS staff.
