Senior Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical direction and leadership to a team of engineers and technicians. You will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the manufacturing process are running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement cross-functional teams and relationships to resolve technical and organizational issues.
* Supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and contract staff.
* Determine the appropriate levels of contract staff to meet current workloads.
* Monitor spending to ensure department budgets are achieved.
* Provide guidance and training to staff to assist them in achieving performance and training objectives.
* Ensure compliance with EH&S requirements for tooling and equipment.
* Lead the development and implementation of best design practices and tools to maximize tooling and equipment effectiveness.
* Communicate company, site, and department vision to staff to align objectives with vision.
* Lead training and development of others across functions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant discipline.
* At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
* Competence in High Volume Automated assembly processes.
* Ability to provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
* Strong working knowledge of HMI's, Vision systems, Electric Drives and Controls, Sensors, solenoids, printers, robots, and calibration procedures.
* Excellent mechanical aptitude foundation.
* Ability to innovate and influence high volume automated assembly process technology strategy.
* Anticipates potential issues and mitigates before they appear.
* Instills a proactive environment where all engineers and technicians consistently monitor their processes.
* Technical drawings - strong knowledge of GD&T and dimensional criteria understanding.
* In-depth knowledge of BMRAM, VIP, MES, GLS, MRB, NCEP, CAPA, Windchill, and GMP.
* Acts as a technical advisor to middle management on specialized business projects and technologies.
* Technical Leadership presence.
* Problem Solving leader for the VS (Minimum green belt, Black belt preferable).
* Statistical Analysis skills e.g. DOE, T-test.
* Demonstrated Stakeholder Management.
