Social Care Assistant Summer Camps Fixed Term Contract (July to mid-August) 30 hours per week Location: Newbridge, Co, Kildare & Blessington Co, Wicklow.
Social Care Assistant Salary Scale: from €16.62 hourly During July and August Kare will be hosting Summer Camps for children with additional needs.
We are seeking Social Care Assistants to join the Kare team and support Service Users during these camps.
Under the direction of the relevant Leader, the Social Care Assistant role aims to ensure individuals are respected, treated with dignity and supported while attending the Summer Camps.
Responsibilities Support Service Users who attend Kares Summer Camps to create a fun atmosphere Assist in implementing the agreed programmes and ensure that each Service User is involved in activities that reflect on their interests Assist Service Users, when necessary, at mealtimes using appropriate feeding methods if applicable Support each person where appropriate with regards to their personal/intimate care and medication Maintain effective communication with families and relatives, where appropriate Communicate with individual Service Users in a manner that is empowering for them using appropriate communication aids when necessary Requirements Minimum Qualification: Level 5 Intellectual Disability Practice / Social Care / Community Support Worker Programme / Early Years - (at least 3 modules completed) Students studying towards a Level 7/8 in Social Care/relevant course are welcome to apply A very good understanding of and experience support people with challenging behaviours and the use of positive behaviour support plans to support individuals Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, organisational & initiative skills Ability to build trusting and respectful relationships Enjoy working on your own with a person with an intellectual disability Closing date for applications is 9th May 2025.
