Intellectual Disability Support Specialist
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to provide person-centred care within a collaborative team, adhering to our client's policies and safety guidelines.
The ideal candidate will deliver residential and respite care, supporting daily living, personal care, and household tasks. They will act as a key contact for assigned individuals, liaising with families and multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, they will develop and implement tailored programs to teach self-help, domestic, and social skills.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Delivering high-quality care that prioritizes the well-being and dignity of individuals with intellectual disabilities
* Acting as a liaison between families, multidisciplinary teams, and service providers
* Developing and implementing individualized support plans that address specific needs and goals
* Supporting individuals with challenging behaviors through evidence-based approaches
* Administering and documenting prescribed medications accurately
* Leading and guiding Care Assistants in a cohesive team approach
* Maintaining accurate records and reports to inform service delivery
* Engaging with families and visitors in a respectful and considerate manner
* Facilitating community-based activities to enhance clients' leisure and social experiences
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualifications: Level 7 degree in Social Studies or a related field
* Registration: CORU registered or in the process of registration
* Experience: Background in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or similar settings
* Licensing: Full driver's license with access to a vehicle
* Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities
