Human Resources Executive
We are seeking a proactive, organised, and solutions-focused Human Resources Executive to join our organisation. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the HR Executive will support the delivery of a high-quality HR service across the organisation.
You will work closely with Service Managers and Heads of Department, providing guidance and operational support on a wide range of HR matters. The role will involve supporting key HR activities such as recruitment, employee relations, policy implementation, and day-to-day HR operations.
Camphill Communities of Ireland operates a residential and day service in 15 centers, in which approx. 250 residents and day-attendees live and take part in day activities, delivered by a workforce of approx. 500 persons comprised of employees and voluntary co-workers.
1 Overall Objectives
Support the Head of Human Resources in achieving the strategic HR objectives of CCoI, contributing to the delivery of a professional, responsive, and people-centred HR service across the organisation.
Assist the Head of HR in ensuring compliance with employment legislation and HR best practices, and support the Board of Management as required.
Provide guidance and operational support in employee relations matters, including conducting and/or supporting workplace investigations, trust in care/disciplinary processes, grievance procedures, and other case management activities in line with CCoI policies and procedures.
Support consistent implementation and application of HR policies and procedures across all communities and departments.
Contribute to the development and improvement of HR processes, systems, and documentation to meet organisational needs.
Assist in the coordination and administration of performance management systems, learning and development initiatives, and staff engagement programmes.
Support recruitment and onboarding activities to ensure timely, values-based talent acquisition that aligns with CCoI's mission and ethos.
Help maintain positive relationships with trade unions and staff representatives, supporting fair and transparent communication in line with CCoI values.
Demonstrate behaviours consistent with CCoI's ethos and values, promoting a respectful and resident-centred approach to all HR-related work.
2 Key Responsibilities
Key accountabilities of this post are:
Operational HR Support & Regulatory Compliance
Support the Head of HR in the development and implementation of national HRM, GDPR, and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Assist in ensuring organisational compliance with employment legislation, regulatory codes, and best practice standards.
Maintain up-to-date awareness of relevant statutory changes and provide guidance to line managers accordingly.
Participate in the preparation and coordination of internal audits or external inspections (e.g., HIQA) related to HR compliance.
Employee Relations and Investigations
Provide advice and support to line managers on employee relations matters in accordance with CCoI policy and employment law.
Conduct or assist in investigations, trust in care/disciplinary procedures, grievance hearings, and Trust in Care processes under the direction of the Head of HR.
Prepare and maintain documentation relevant to ER/IR matters, ensuring procedural fairness and legal compliance.
Support the Head of HR in maintaining productive relationships with trade unions and staff representatives.
Performance Management, Learning & Development
Support the rollout and ongoing administration of performance management systems across the organisation.
Assist in identifying training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives in consultation with service managers and the Head of HR.
Encourage staff engagement and support initiatives that foster high-performing, values-based teams.
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
Coordinate recruitment processes, including job postings, shortlisting, interview scheduling, and pre-employment checks.
Ensure compliance with CCoI recruitment policies and safeguarding requirements.
Support workforce planning activities by maintaining accurate staffing data and providing regular reports to the Head of HR.
HR Policies, Procedures & System
Assist in the implementation and consistent application of HR policies and procedures across all services and communities.
Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of HR processes to ensure they are efficient, user-friendly, and legally compliant.
Maintain HR systems and databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
Records Management & Payroll Coordination
Maintain accurate HR records and ensure all documentation complies with data protection regulations (GDPR).
Work collaboratively with Payroll to support timely and accurate processing of HR/payroll-related data.
Assist in preparing HR data reports and analysis for internal use, audits, and external reporting requirements.
Team Collaboration & Support
Work closely with the Head of HR, Service Managers, and members of the Senior Team to ensure effective HR service delivery.
Contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive working environment aligned with the ethos of CCoI.
Demonstrate professionalism and discretion in all matters, maintaining a strong commitment to resident-centred care.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
A degree in in Human Resources
A minimum 3 years consecutive experience in a Senior HR role working within the Healthcare Sector
Previous in depth experience of managing Trust in Care, disciplinaries and grievances to completion
Previous in-depth experience of union management, Employee Relations and Industrial Relations investigations
Comprehensive experience of employee relations, including a detailed knowledge of grievance and disciplinary issues
A thorough knowledge of current Irish and EU legislation relating to Employment Law
Thorough knowledge and understanding of HIQA requirements and safeguarding requirements including Trust in Care, and Children's First
Details of the Role:
Salary Scale: Grade 7 €54,062-€72,223 - Per annum (based on a 40 hour week)
Will Be Commensurate With Qualifications And Experience.
Location: The Bridge, Kilcullen, County Kildare with attendance at other locations as required. This is a hybrid role.
Duration: Fulltime 40 hours - Permanent
