Job Purpose:
Ensuring Smooth Warehouse Operations, the Goods In Operative is responsible for receiving and accurately recording incoming stock and deliveries. This crucial role plays a pivotal part in maintaining a seamless supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receiving and Unloading Deliveries: Safely unload stock and materials from deliveries.
2. Verification and Inspection: Accurately check goods received against delivery notes and purchase orders.
3. Damage or Discrepancy Reporting: Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report any issues promptly.
4. Inventory Recording: Accurately record goods received in the warehouse management system (WMS).
5. Stock Allocation and Organisation: Label and allocate stock to appropriate storage areas, ensuring cleanliness and safety of the goods-in area.
6. Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely, with training provided if necessary.
7. Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding delivery issues.
8. Supporting Stock Rotation and Control: Assist in stock rotation and inventory control as required.
Requirements:
* Essential Skills:
o Previous Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
o Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
o Communication and Teamwork: Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
o Physical Fitness: Physically fit and able to lift and move goods as required.
o Basic Computer Literacy: Basic computer literacy.
* Desirable Qualifications:
o Forklift Truck Licence: Forklift truck licence (e.g., Counterbalance or Reach).
o Warehouse Management System Experience: Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
o Stock Control Knowledge: Knowledge of stock control processes.
