As a Junior IT Support professional at Smarttech247 you will play a key role in providing dedicated, high-quality IT and technical support to one of our valued clients in the healthcare sector. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a critical environment where technology plays a vital role in supporting patient care and operational excellence. You’ll act as a first point of contact for technical issues, ensuring prompt and effective solutions while representing Smarttech247’s commitment to exceptional customer experience and cybersecurity best practices.

Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC)

Location: Dublin - On-site Requirement, 4 Days per Week/ 1 day remote

Key Responsibilities

* Provide on-site first-line IT support to our healthcare client, resolving day-to-day technical issues and service requests efficiently.
* Respond to user queries, diagnose issues and ensure timely resolution while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
* Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware, software and network components to maintain optimal system performance.
* Support user access requests and permissions management, adhering to Smarttech’s cybersecurity and data protection standards.
* Escalate complex technical issues to Smarttech’s internal teams or senior engineers when required, ensuring accurate handover and follow-up.
* Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents, resolutions and service requests within the company’s ticketing system.
* Assist in maintaining security compliance within the client’s IT environment, including implementing updates and monitoring for potential vulnerabilities.
* Collaborate with Smarttech’s cybersecurity and managed services teams to ensure seamless alignment between local IT support and broader security measures.
* Support the onboarding of new users and devices within the client’s environment, ensuring smooth setup and secure configurations.
* Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives by documenting common issues and solutions for future reference.

Requirements

* A strong interest in IT and cybersecurity, with a proactive and customer-focused approach.
* Previous experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or technical service environment.
* Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Office 365 and basic networking principles (DNS, DHCP, IP configuration, etc.).
* Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices, particularly in handling sensitive information (healthcare sector experience is an advantage).
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to take ownership of issues through to resolution.
* Organised, reliable and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
* Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals, etc.) are an advantage.
