Job Title: Occupational Health Nurse

A leading organisation is currently seeking a qualified and proactive Occupational Health Nurse to join their team. This role is key to promoting employee health and wellbeing through collaboration with HR and the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team to foster a safe, productive workplace.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-employment medicals and fitness-for-work assessments
Manage and coordinate return-to-work programmes after illness/injury
Liaise with HR and management on absence management and workplace adjustments
Monitor and report on absence trends to identify improvement opportunities
Provide proactive case management and support rehabilitation plans
Deliver health surveillance in line with legislative risk assessments
Maintain accurate, confidential health records (GDPR compliant)
Organise and manage vaccination programmes (, annual flu clinics)
Ensure medical equipment is calibrated and supplies are stocked
Develop and promote workplace health and wellbeing initiatives
Provide first aid and emergency care as required
Support and advise employees on general and work-related health matters
Ensure compliance with professional standards and current legislation
Liaise regularly with the Occupational Health Physician
Participate in clinical audits (, SEQOHS)
Engage in continuous professional development and annual performance reviews
Maintain NMBI registration and submit annual certification
Comply with all organisational policies and procedures
Core requirement is 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, totalling hours
Daily working hours can be flexible, depending on candidate preference and workload
Occasional weekend work may be available, but only if the candidate chooses to opt in for additional hours
Skills and Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health or equivalent
Experience in general nursing and occupational health
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Strong organisational, time management, and interpersonal skills
Clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
High level of confidentiality, empathy, and professional conduct
Awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace
Ability to analyse and report health and absence data
