Join our Science & Innovation team as a Food Innovation Technologist and help develop new products that delight our customers and drive our business forward.
About the role:
As an NPD Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering innovation projects through our stage gate process.
You will lead projects from initial idea through pilot trials and scale-up, ensuring products are developed efficiently, meet customer expectations, and are launched on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities:
Take ownership of assigned projects, managing them through each stage of the process: concept, feasibility, pilot trials, factory scale-up, production reviews and final evaluation.
Actively contribute to idea generation and strategic planning, bringing culinary expertise and technical insights to the table.
Coordinate and run effective meetings, keep clear records, and engage all key stakeholders throughout each stage.
Attend customer presentations and visits, lead technical discussions, and provide relevant insights and solutions.
Maintain up-to-date project pipelines and provide regular updates to the team, flagging any delays and taking action to stay on track.
Build strong relationships with suppliers and technical experts to support innovation and problem-solving.
Ensure high standards of food safety, product quality and cleanliness in all work areas, from test kitchens to production.
Experience and skills required:
Minimum 3 years' experience in the food industry, ideally in a high-risk food environment
BSc in Food Science, Food Technology or a related field
In-depth knowledge of nutrition, food safety, meat science and culinary techniques
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and motivate others
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Competent in Word, Excel and Outlook (Intermediate level); Navision experience is a plus
Flexible, organised and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
