As we continue to scale globally, security, compliance, and infrastructure resilience are critical to our success. We operate in a highly regulated, high-availability environment where strong cybersecurity practices are not optional—they are foundational.
At Scarpel, we empower our people to take ownership, implement meaningful improvements, and directly strengthen the integrity of our global messaging ecosystem.
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Engineer (Part-Time) to strengthen our security posture and ensure compliance with international information security standards.
This role is responsible for security monitoring, incident response, infrastructure hardening, ISMS implementation, and ongoing risk management. You will work closely with the CTO and technical teams to build scalable, audit-ready security systems that protect our platform and clients.
Success in this role means strong visibility across systems, zero major audit non-conformities, well-maintained documentation, and effective deployment of security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and DLP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and respond to security events and incidents across infrastructure and cloud environments
* Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, DLP, vulnerability management systems)
* Design and improve centralized logging and monitoring architecture
* Implement and maintain ISMS in line with international standards (e.g., ISO 27001 or similar frameworks)
* Conduct risk assessments and prioritize mitigation strategies
* Maintain up-to-date security policies, documentation, and audit evidence
* Prepare the organization for internal and external security audits
* Collaborate cross-functionally to align security controls with business objectives
* Provide regular security posture reports to the CTO and management
What You Bring
* 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related roles
* Strong understanding of cloud security fundamentals
* Solid knowledge of network security principles
* Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)
* Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools
* Experience implementing and maintaining ISMS
* Familiarity with international security standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar)
* Strong analytical thinking and decision-making under uncertainty
* Ability to balance technical depth with regulatory and compliance requirements
* English fluency required
Why This Role Matters
Security and compliance are fundamental to maintaining trust in the global telecom ecosystem. This role directly impacts our operational resilience, audit readiness, and overall risk exposure.
By strengthening monitoring, improving controls, and ensuring standards compliance, you will play a critical role in protecting both our infrastructure and our clients worldwide.
What We Offer
* Competitive compensation (part-time structure)
* Flexible remote working within GMT+0–GMT+5
* Direct collaboration with leadership and technical decision-making exposure
* Opportunity to shape and mature the company's security framework
* A high-growth, international telecom environment
