Job Title: Senior Medical Scientist

We are seeking an enthusiastic CORU registered Senior Medical Scientist to join our team in the Haematology / Blood Transfusion Department.
\
The post holder will lead service delivery in order to meet the needs and requirements of its users and patients.
\
Qualifications/Experience:
\
\
1. Possess 4 years experience in a medical laboratory setting since qualifying as a medical scientist
\
2. Possess the appropriate technical and interpretive skills in Haematology
\
3. Excellent planning & organisational skills
\
4. Excellent leadership, interpersonal and people management skills
\
5. Familiarity with ISO15189 and JCI standards
\
\
Key Responsibilities:
\
\
6. To assist in the organisation and co-ordination of the Haematology / Blood Transfusion service
\
7. To assist in the implementation and maintenance of a quality management system that meets the requirements of ISO15189 and Joint Commission International (JCI)
\
8. To assist in training of staff in the laboratory for the provision of routine services
\
9. To act as deputy for the Chief Medical Scientist when required and liaise with other senior personnel
\
