This is an important role working closely with the Head of Technical and senior management of an established and successful aircraft and engine leasing platform to support the growth of the business from a technical perspective. The individual will play an important role in the technical management of assets and will oversee relationships with providers of 3rd party support.
Responsibilities:
* Provide deal evaluation and underwriting support for all potential asset acquisitions including review of engine (and aircraft) specs, green time and residual value analyses and other related tasks.
* Evaluate acquisition candidate engines for underwriting forecasts and valuations for new investments.
* Management of activities and associated contracts with OEMs, MROs and other 3rd party services providers supporting asset acquisitions and transitions
* Engage with airlines with regard to deliveries and support with asset related matters.
* Ability to review and negotiate the technical provisions of lease and purchase agreements.
* Apply technical expertise to deal evaluation with a view to maximising return on investment.
* Manage pre-purchase due diligence through physical and technical record BTB trace and related safeguards to residual values.
* Manage and upload technical records to archive systems.
* Identify opportunities for streamlining existing processes and opportunities to reduce operating costs.
* Evaluate alternative asset maintenance strategies where economically sensible.
* Administer the company's asset management, aircraft records software and other portals/software.
* Review airworthiness and technical requirements which may impact the portfolio of aircraft and liaise with customers in relation to same.
* Manage deliveries, redeliveries and transitions of aircraft and engines.
* Liaise with OEMs and customers regarding technical issues and/or modification initiatives.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
* 6-10 years relevant technical experience in an engine leasing environment.
* Undergraduate degree preferred, as well as FAA A&P license or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of commercial aircraft engines including V2500, GTF and CFM family
* Experience reviewing the technical provisions of aircraft/engine lease and purchase agreements.
* Knowledge of aircraft engine technical records requirements.
* Experience of narrow and wide body heavy aircraft maintenance programs and the ability to measure the reasonableness of maintenance costs.
* Ability to monitor engine shop visits, review engine workscopes thoroughly without having to rely on third party, build engine workscopes, understanding of the engine workscope planning guide, familiarity with engine modules.
* Ability to process engine and airframe maintenance reserve claims.
* Ability to process airframe maintenance reserve claims.
* Demonstrable appreciation for the factors that will drive financial return on investments.
* Experience with record keeping and familiarity with ongoing EASA/FAA record certification standards.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively present to an investment board
* Ability to read, understand, interpret and manage the requirements of aircraft operating leases, MRO agreements, and other contracts related to the management of aircraft.
* Working knowledge of lease management software.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen.
* Experience with calculation and management of maintenance reserve forecasts.
* Strong critical thinking/problem solving ability and project management skills.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Open to international travel.
