Bon Secours Diagnostic Imaging is offering an exciting opportunity for a PET-CT Clinical Specialist to join our brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art facility in the new Bon Secours Hospital Limerick. The €213m, 190‑bed investment will be the first PET‑CT service in the Midwest and aims to provide rapid access to world‑class diagnostic services locally and in a fully integrated clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a safe and efficient PET‑CT service in conjunction with the PET‑CT Clinical and Administrative staff, while adhering to all legislative regulations and company policies.
Be accountable for the quality of the service, including customer service and technical aspects.
Develop and implement operational policies, protocols and guidelines.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical, technical and radiographic developments in the PET‑CT department and promote awareness of new developments.
Support the Unit Manager in implementing initiatives aimed at ongoing service development and improvement.
Promote and maintain a safe environment for staff and patients, assisting in the development and implementation of risk management and health and safety strategies in association with the Quality Department.
Participate fully in all internal and external audits and accreditation activities.
Conduct quality assurance, investigating and taking appropriate action in accordance with company policy in relation to complaints, accidents and incidents.
Ensure that all company policies and relevant up‑to‑date information are understood by staff and complied with, including infection control, IV policy and health and safety.
Maintain a quality assurance programme in the PET/CT department.
Assist the Radiation Protection Officer to ensure that all principles and policies of radiation protection are adhered to.
Be familiar with all legislation and directives regarding safety standards for the protection of health workers and the general public against the dangers arising from ionising radiation.
Follow all radiation protection practices as determined by the Radiation Protection Committee, Radiation Protection Advisor and Radiation Protection Officer.
Key Requirements
BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
Active CORU registration.
Experience with IV cannulation.
Post‑graduate qualification in PET‑CT (desirable but not mandatory).
