Lecturer – Accounting, Finance, and Business
Griffith College Cork is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching in Accounting, Finance, and Business disciplines.
The ideal candidate will hold a Level 9 qualification (or higher) in a relevant field and bring academic or professional experience to inspire and engage our students.
Responsibilities
Deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops in areas such as Accounting, Finance, and Business.
Develop innovative teaching materials and assessments aligned with industry and academic standards.
Work within QA approved guidelines to assess student work and submissions.
Support student learning and progression through mentoring and academic feedback.
Contribute to curriculum development and ensure alignment with professional body standards (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
Engage with industry professionals to bring real-world context to the classroom.
Participate in departmental meetings, academic reviews, and programme administration.
Requirements
Level 9 qualification (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Proven teaching ability and/or professional experience in accounting, finance, or business.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and IT skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain academic and professional standards.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and digital learning tools.
Desirable
Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CFA).
Experience designing course content and assessment tools.
Awareness of current trends and developments in the financial/business sector.
Mock Lecture Requirement
As part of the interview, candidates will deliver a 5–10 minute mock lecture on a selected topic to a panel acting as students.
The session should focus on a specific concept and demonstrate teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
