What You Will Be Doing
Design, build, and maintain the infrastructure and systems necessary for the development, testing, and deployment of Brightflag's software applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, and product managers, to define infrastructure requirements, implement solutions, and ensure smooth operations.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment scripts, and configuration management systems to streamline software releases and updates.
Implement and maintain observability solutions to proactively identify and resolve system issues, bottlenecks, and performance optimisations.
Continuously improve the scalability, reliability, and security of our infrastructure by leveraging best practices and implementing appropriate tools and technologies.
Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and practices related to DevOps and cloud infrastructure management, and apply that knowledge to improve systems and processes.
Collaborate with the security team to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices, including vulnerability management and incident response.
Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain a robust knowledge base.
Skills & Experience
3–4 years experience as a DevOps Engineer.
Competent programming skills in Java, C# and scripting in Python, sh/bash, etc.
Good knowledge of Linux operating system and common terminal commands.
Solid knowledge of CI/CD principles and implementation ecosystems (AWS Codebuild, Bitbucket pipelines, GitHub Actions), including experience with build tools (maven, make, npm, etc).
Understanding of fundamental cloud (AWS) infrastructure and principles, including clustering and scaling strategies.
Familiar with TCP/IP based networking and supporting internet systems (DNS, etc), and common protocols such as HTTP.
Good knowledge of applicable web application technologies (application servers, databases, queues, caching).
Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated experience in driving improvements to prevent issues before they occur.
Self-starter with experience taking ownership of projects through to delivery.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle and company compliance processes (ISO***** & Soc2).
