Housing Rights is looking for an experienced and passionate young peoples advocate to join our advice team. About the role The role involves providing specialist advice, advocacy, and representation on housing and homelessness issues affecting young people. It includes identifying and making appropriate referrals to Housing Rights mediation or legal teams, as well as to external support services. A key aspect of the role is recognising areas where housing legislation, policy, or practice negatively impacts young people and actively advocating for change. Additionally, the position contributes to the development and delivery of specialist training, resources, and information to support this work. About you You will hold: a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), Grades A-C, including English Language and Mathematics You will have: at least six months' full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience, of providing advice to the public in a social welfare or legal context at least six months' full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience, of managing a complex case load demonstrated knowledge of the housing issue or challenges faced by young people in Northern Ireland demonstrated experience of effective collaborative working to achieve desired results demonstrated experience, of excellent ability to effectively engage and communicate with young people skills in the use of Mircosoft Office applications (e.g. Teams, Outlook and Word) demonstrated ability to work innovatively and persuasively with clients and stakeholders to influence, persuade and achieve change and positive solutions excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences full valid driving licence or ability to meet the mobility requirements of the post About Housing Rights Housing Rights has been helping people in Northern Ireland deal with housing and homelessness problems since 1964. We help people with their housing and homelessness problems through our helplines and advice work. We use their experiences to bring change and improvements with our policy work. We educate and inform others working in the housing and advice sectors to help their clients. All our work helps us to achieve our vision 'when everyone has a home'.
