Contract opportunity with a leading multinational in the Life Sciences sector. This role is part of the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team, where you will provide technical guidance to the site and support ongoing projects to ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements, as well as the company's standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and industry best practices.
The ideal candidate will be able to influence others effectively, demonstrate strong knowledge of safety programmes, and be a persuasive communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working within a multi-functional team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide SME support in General Safety and High-Risk Work Programmes, demonstrating and embedding a strong EHS culture across the site.
* Provide SME support in Environmental Programmes (air, water, waste).
* Participate in local safety teams, audits and inspections, incident investigations, and other safety initiatives as required.
* Act as EHS representative for risk assessments, change management impact assessments, training delivery, and contractor management.
* Conduct EHS assessments and audits of processes and systems in line with MSD Global Safety and Environment Standards.
* Report weekly to management and department teams on KPIs in line with EHS objectives and targets.
Requirements
* 7+ years' EHS, Engineering, or Operational experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, biochemical, petrochemical, or other process-related industries.
* In-depth knowledge of Irish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and regulations.
* Strong understanding of High-Risk Work Programmes (electrical safety, LOTO, hot work, confined space, etc.).
* Contractor management experience (advantageous).
* Ability to work
onsite, 5 days per week
