Insurance Underwriter Role
The Business Lines New Business Team is responsible for meeting the insurance needs of customers through a broker channel. The role involves working closely with broker partners and internal functions to ensure all areas of the business are managed in accordance with framework, policies, authority levels, and guidelines while delivering on financial objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
* Underwrite and analyze new business submissions in adherence with underwriting principles and within delegated authority levels.
* Negotiate terms and conditions with broker partners in line with agreed strategies and target risk appetite while nurturing relationships.
* Manage and prioritize new business pipeline and work queues, ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.
* Engage with Sales, Distribution, Risk Engineering, and broker partners to generate and secure new business opportunities.
Requirements:
* Holds or is pursuing relevant professional qualifications, such as Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Marketing and Distribution Insurance (MDI), or Associate Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).
* Demonstrates excellent technical insurance knowledge, including commercial insurance expertise.
