Exciting New Role: Data Centre Technician

The role involves full-time shift work, including weekends and bank holidays. Key duties include:
* Responding to and resolving technical tickets in line with client KPIs and SLAs.
* Installing, maintaining, and certifying optical infrastructure, including servers, fibre patching, and network hardware.
* Monitoring system performance and responding swiftly to outages or faults.
* Operating and isolating electrical, cooling, fire, and sprinkler systems (where authorised).
* Supporting day-to-day operations and capacity planning with engineering and IT teams.
* Providing shift cover for colleagues during leave or absence.
* Completing detailed condition assessments, incident reports, and maintenance documentation.
* Ensuring strict adherence to health & safety and quality procedures.
* Overseeing third-party contractor performance and addressing follow-up actions.
* Maintaining accurate infrastructure mapping and site documentation.
Requirements for Success:
* Recognised trade qualification.
* Ideally 2+ years' experience as a Data Centre Technician or Electrician.
* Background in mission-critical environments (UPS, BMS, chillers, gensets, electrical testing).
* Strong fibre testing and certification skills, plus experience with optical hardware installs.
* Excellent awareness of health & safety in a maintenance environment.
* Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal.
* Solid documentation and reporting abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Calm, collaborative, and highly responsive in a fast-paced setting.
