Contract Manager Role Overview
The Contract Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the planning and delivery of site operations across Ireland. The successful candidate will ensure works are completed as per specifications, safety standards, customer requirements, and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Program and schedule works to maximize resource efficiency.
* Coordinate Project Supervisors in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare Act.
* Prepare relevant Construction Stage Health and Safety Plans.
* Carry out regular inspections/audits on Temporary Traffic Management.
* Ensure communication of Site Inductions, Methods Statements & Safe Systems of Work for all visitors, employees, contractors, and suppliers.
* Liaise with Operations Managers / Supervisors / Managers to maintain proper record-keeping for projects.
* Monitor the quality of Surface Dressing works to ensure compliance.
* Coordinate testing and sampling of emulsions and aggregates.
* Source approved suppliers and contractors.
* Plan, forecast, and schedule works.
* Manage contract financial performance, including cost management and invoicing.
* Maintain control over work in progress.
* Nurture existing customer relationships and develop new ones.
Managerial Responsibilities:
* Direct, manage, and lead contracting operations across the Republic of Ireland.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and quality standards.
* Meet annual revenue and margin deliverables.
* Grow market share in terms of revenue, tonnage, and products.
* Develop internal and external capabilities to deliver road maintenance services.
* Measure performance in productivity, quality, health & safety, costs, revenue, and asset management.
* Develop programs to improve production efficiency.
* Contribute to tenders in a timely and efficient manner.
* Build/develop new market opportunities.
* Promote environmental procedures and employee relations.
Requirements:
* A degree in Civil/Construction or equivalent qualification.
* Up to 5 years prior leadership experience in a road surfacing or contracting environment.
* Knowledge of contracting, estimating, project management, health & safety, and outsourcing.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Analytical problem-solving ability.
* Team collaboration skills.
