Occupational Therapist Role
You will join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team providing high-quality occupational therapy services within an acute general medicine ward.
Key Responsibilities
* Comprehensive Assessment: Conduct functional and cognitive assessments to identify patients' abilities and limitations in activities of daily living (ADLs).
* Individualized Treatment Planning: Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to support recovery, optimize independence, and facilitate discharge.
* Discharge Planning & Environmental Recommendations: Collaborate with the MDT to ensure timely and safe discharge, including home environment assessments and recommendations for adaptive equipment.
* Education & Advocacy: Educate patients, families, and carers on strategies for managing functional limitations and advocate for patient-centered care throughout the admission.
Requirements
* Staff Grade OT: BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (CORU registered) Minimum 1 year of acute hospital experience Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* Senior OT: BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (CORU registered) Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience (acute experience strongly preferred) Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and advanced clinical skills Proven ability to manage a complex caseload independently
