Overview
Rolleston McElwee Solicitors LLP is seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Solicitor to join their thriving general practice firm in County Laois. While the firm handles a variety of legal areas, this position will have a particular focus on commercial law.
Responsibilities
* Commercial law - specialise in managing commercial law cases, including drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, advising on business transactions, and handling corporate legal matters.
* File management - handle cases in other areas such as conveyancing, property, litigation, personal injuries, wills and probate, family law, and private client matters.
* Client relations - build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
* Confidentiality - manage sensitive information in accordance with our data security protocols.
* Client attraction - promote the firm and attract new clients.
* Case management - use case management systems proficiently.
* Public interaction - serve as a point of contact for the public and partners.
* Administrative tasks - manage filing, proofreading, email management, and office organisation.
* Legal support - assist partners with drafting legal agreements and maintaining precedent contracts.
* Compliance - ensure compliance with legislation, guidelines, and internal policies.
* Research and reporting - conduct legal research and provide advice on regulatory issues.
* Team support - assist the legal team with administrative duties and drive improvements in legal services.
* External engagement - liaise with external law firms and manage related invoices.
* Conveyancing and litigation - handle tasks related to conveyancing, litigation, and commercial work.
* Document preparation - prepare contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents. Company secretarial work - draft and manage commercial agreements and company secretarial tasks.
Key Attributes / Qualifications
* Experience - minimum of two years as a qualified solicitor with a focus on commercial law.
* Team player: ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
* IT skills - proficiency in IT and administrative tasks.
* Work ethic - strong work ethic with the ability to prioritise and multitask.
* Confidentiality - maintain confidentiality at all times.

* Language skills - a second language, such as Polish, is beneficial.
