Technical Manager
We are looking for technical manager for a maternity cover for a minimum of 12 months. This role is central to upholding the integrity and quality of our award-winning bread products. In this role you will provide specialist expertise and guidance on all technical and quality matters, with the support of the Quality Assurance Officer. To succeed in this role, you will need Technical management experience, a relevant food safety qualification, strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Walsh's Bakehouse is a third generation family run business which takes great pride in in crafting the Waterford Blaa since 1921. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead quality review meetings, identifying root cause and corrective actions
* Ensure site compliance with regulatory, BRC and customer standards
* Lead HACCP Team
* Conduct risk Assessments
* Ensure product aligns with correct specifications
* Lead, engage and develop the technical team
* Lead QA Management on site to achieve BRC accreditation in the long term.
* Completing internal site audits and ensuring robust auditing programme is embedded to ensure products are manufactured to high standard to meet company, customers, and legislative standards.
* Coordinating and managing QAs
* Complete monthly site KPI report and distribute as required
* Creating, monitoring and review of HACCP, TACCP and VACCP plans
* Completing technical update reports including performance data, complaint trends and improvement plans.
Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 2 years experience in technical management role, within the food manufacturing industry.
* Demonstrable technical expertise supported by relevant qualification such as food science degree
* HACCP level 5 or 6
* Leadership skill with the ability to engage and develop others.
* Proficient including Microsoft Word and Excel
* Strong knowledge of Food Regulations within EU and UK/ experience of External Audits.
* Knowledge of retailer specification systems would be advantageous
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: €40,000.00-€50,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
