This contract role is available in either Dublin or Cork.

The Role

The Financial Governance and Compliance Function delivers all Integrated Assurance activities and Continuous Controls Monitoring for Uisce Éireann. The function supports the CFO and other Finance teams in oversight groups such as the Water Advisory Board, Public Accounts Committee and Oversight Monitoring Group. It also delivers the Expenditure Approvals Committee process and drives an effective review process for commercial contracts. Additionally, it oversees all Insurance activities for Uisce Éireann and provides preliminary audits and review services of the business on contracts implementation.

The Insurance area ensures Uisce Éireann has the most appropriate insurance cover in place and that insurance‑related claims are investigated and managed cost‑effectively in accordance with policy terms and conditions.

The Insurance Placement Team supports the Insurance Placement Manager in delivering insurance programme placements. The Insurance Placement Advisor reports to the Insurance Placement Manager and supports the team in delivering insurance programme placements, handling insurance queries from the business and other duties as assigned.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Report directly to the Insurance Placement Manager to assist in the development and delivery of Insurance solutions to Uisce Éireann.
* Act as the initial point of contact in the provision of day‑to‑day assistance to the business regarding all matters relating to insurance placement.
* Support the Insurance Placement Manager in providing Insurance services to Uisce Éireann.
* Gather relevant underwriting information, prepare market submissions and finalize quotations prior to placement to assist the Insurance Placement Manager and team in the insurance placement and renewal process.
* Work closely with the Insurance Placement Manager in the renewal & procurement of Uisce Éireann in accordance with procurement law.
* Engage with the business regarding insurance required by third‑party contractors, contracts, agreements, wayleaves, etc., and review all documentation in preparation for sign‑off by the Insurance Placement Manager in accordance with internal procedures.
* Analyze claims reports/experience, including loss ratio, burning costs, triangulation reports, etc., to facilitate the renewal process.
* Attend Risk/Site surveys as required.
* Prepare/up‑date and issue Uisce Éireann insurance summaries.
* Prepare periodic reports to Management.
* Maintain/update a database of insurance policy documentation/insurance summaries.
* Manage the Motor Fleet relationship with the Business and External Parties.
* Assist in the preparation of tender documents to the Broker Framework.
* Review insurance queries from the business and elevate within the team as required.
* Liaise with Insurance Brokers and other relevant parties on insurance placement matters, and refer within the team in accordance with agreed governance protocols.
* Other duties as required from time to time.


General Duties and Responsibilities

* Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business.
* Promote and deliver health and safety commitments across Ué and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives to the highest industry standards.
* Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation‑wide objectives.
* Conduct duties in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services in accordance with the NIS Directive and other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
* Other duties as required.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Relevant third‑level qualification and/or accreditation is desirable.
* A minimum of three to five years of meaningful experience of Corporate Insurance preferably obtained in a Broking environment, In‑house environment, Underwriting and/or similar role handling various classes of general insurance.
* Relevant third‑level qualification and/or ACII, MDI, CIP/DipCII Insurance Institute of Ireland/Chartered Insurance Institute qualification or equivalent is desirable.
* Contract savvy, with knowledge of insurance contract wording is desirable.
* Experience and knowledge of a self‑insured environment would be an advantage.
* Demonstrated people‑management ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of staff.
* Experience in managing a team of professionals, resolving challenges and promoting cross‑functional ways of working.
* Preferred but not essential experience in day‑to‑day operational management of direct reports.
* Demonstrated people‑management experience, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills.
* Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.
* Experience using data analytics to challenge decisions and behaviours that don’t align with our values.
* Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements.
* Ability to seek out ways to innovate and improve processes to improve service standards.
* Experience in taking ownership of safety responsibilities and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
