Job Title: Clinical Healthcare Specialist
Job Description:
This role involves providing expert advice on the safe and effective use of medications in a clinical setting. The successful candidate will have a degree in Pharmacy, be registered as a pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland, and have post-registration hospital experience. A strong understanding of pharmacology and ability to communicate effectively with medical staff are essential for this position.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will work as part of a team to provide high-quality patient care. This includes supervising pharmacy technicians, ensuring legislation is met when supplying or dispensing medicines, and advising medical staff on the safe use of medications. Continuous education and professional development are encouraged to ensure knowledge of new developments and methods related to the medical field.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise pharmacy technician staff and ensure adherence to standards required in the purchasing, quality control, compounding, and dispensing of drugs/pharmaceuticals.
- Provide guidance/advice on the procurement of medicines and advise medical and nursing staff on the safe, effective, and economical use of medications.
- Maintain confidentiality of service users and staff members at all times and provide service user and staff education about medicines.
- Foster open lines of communication within the department and with other departments in the hospital.
