The Role;
Ashgrove is a national leader in Home Energy Upgrades, and are now scaling our impact through our newly established Commercial Energy Solutions (CES) Department.
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Energy Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and growth of this division. As an early-stage hire, this role offers rapid career advancement in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
The successful candidate will lead Energy Audits, Feasibility Studies and front-end appraisals, while guiding our clients through the SEAI grant process for both energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades.

Est 2001, we have over 2 decades of experience in the Irish renewable energy market.
Following the successful launch of our Home Energy Upgrade division in 2021, bolstered by over 20 years of experience delivering cost and energy savings to clients nationwide, we are delighted to be one of the largest domestic CEG providers in the country; these have been a mixture of shallow renovations and deep retrofit projects with increased targets for 2025.
Key Responsibilities of this Role;
Energy Audits / Technical Assessments
* Lead and conduct non-domestic energy audits aligned with international standard ISO50002 and SEAI guidelines
* Identify energy conservation measures across building services and building fabric
* Model the energy breakdown of customer sites and perform energy calculations
* Model non-domestic building energy demands (Non-domestic BER, etc)
Technical Grant Assistance
* Serve as a technical support to both colleagues and customers in relation to grant application ensuring proposed works meet the specific requirements for grant and state aid
* Prepare relevant documentation and technical workbook to support grant submissions, ensuring alignment with funding criteria
* Establish energy baselines to be used for future verification of energy savings
* Prepare and submit Measurement and Verification plans and reports aligned with ISO50015 / IPMVP
* Maintain up to date knowledge of evolving funding windows, eligibility rules and technical compliance standards for energy performance and renewable installations
Reporting and Client Engagement
* Produce concise, decision-ready audit reports that clearly communicate technical findings, savings projections and next steps to senior client management
* Effectively present technical analysis and grant supported funding scenarios to clients, addressing queries as they arise
General
* Adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental regulation
* Any other duties as reasonably requested within your capability to perform.
Requirements
* Level 7 degree or higher in Energy, Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering
* 1-3 years experience conducting non-domestic/commercial energy audits, and preparing techncial documentation
* Experience in SEAI grant applications and requirements
* Certification; CEM / CEA / CMVP is desirable but not essential
* Software: Non-domestic BER / iSBEM desirable but not essential
Other Requirements;
* Full clean Irish driving licence
* Willingness to travel to client sites
* MS Suite, Excel, CRM and database proficient
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
