This a key role for IBAT which will support the effective management and operation of the College's buildings, learning spaces and campus services ensuring a safe, well maintained and compliant environment for all students and staff. The Facilities Officer will assist in coordinating planned and reactive maintenance, managing contractors, supporting space management and contributing to sustainability initiatives across the campus. Please note, due the needs of the College, the working hours for this on-site position is Monday - Friday 6.00am until 3.00pm.Key Activities and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Facility and Maintenance CoordinationSupport the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across all campus buildings.Log, track and follow up on maintenance requests.Liaise with external contractors and service providers, ensuring work is carried out to agreed standards and in line with relevant polices.Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identity issues or hazards.Lead on general maintenance around the campus including decorating, power washing, widow cleaning, etc.Lead on activities as directed by the Operations Manager when required such as DIY and general repairs.Health, Safety and ComplianceAssist with ensuring compliance with relevant legislation including H&S including fire standards and building controls.Maintain documentation such as risk assessments, safety logs and statutory compliance records.Participate in fire drill and emergency preparedness planning.Report hazards and incidents promptly and support investigations where required.Participate in relevant training to the role such as First Aid, Health and Safety, Manual Handling, etc.Operations and SupportSupport day-to-day campus operations, including room set-up, furniture moves and event support.Monitor the performance of cleaning, security, waste management and other contracted services.Assist with reception duties as and when required.Other duties as and when required by your manager.Sustainability and Continuous ImprovementContribute to sustainability initiatives, including energy management, waste reduction and environmental reporting.Identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost efficiencies and enhanced service qualityQualifications / Experience / Key AttributesSkills, qualification and key attributes:At least 1 years' experience in a similar facilities-based role.Excellent communication, administration and organisation skills.Effective problem-solving skills with a proactive hands-on approach.Some familiarity with Irish Health and Safety regulations.Friendly, approachable and possess a student-centred attitude.Desirable, but not essentialA relevant qualification such as Facilities Management, Building Services, Health and Safety or equivalent.Experience working in a facilities based role in an HE setting.Knowledge of building systems (plumbing, fire safety, electrical).Strong IT skills (Google Workspace and Microsoft Office).Extra Notes:Normal working hours are 6.00am to 3:00pm, but there may be some requirement for evening work to facilitate support for students. Due to the nature of this role, this will be 100% on site. Some duties of the role include providing support to student and colleagues in our Frederick Street Campus in Dublin.
