Maintenance / Engineering Manager

A leading Food Manufacturer based in Co. Offaly is seeking a Maintenance & Engineering Manager to join its site leadership team. This is a key role focused on ensuring all site equipment, plant, and property are maintained to the highest standards, enabling optimal production performance. The facility operates on a daytime, Monday to Friday schedule. no nights or weekends required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage all aspects of site maintenance and engineering, including planned and reactive maintenance.
* Oversee internal maintenance teams, contractors, and third-party service providers.
* Ensure all work complies with health & safety and quality standards.
* Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and performance enhancements across the site.
* Manage site utilities and maintenance budgets.
* Support production optimisation across all plant processes including filling, packing, and intake.
* Use data insights to drive performance improvements and troubleshoot issues.
* Develop training strategies and upskill maintenance team members.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Production, etc.) on site improvement projects.
Requirements:
* Trade qualification (Electrician or Fitter) or third-level degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
* Strong hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems, including refrigeration and packaging lines.
* Proven leadership experience in a maintenance function, ideally within a food or pharmaceutical environment.
* Expertise in preventive maintenance systems and project management.
* Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and influencing skills.
* Results-driven with a strong work ethic, organisational ability, and attention to detail.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
