Financial Operations Assistant
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Operations Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing high-volume payrolls, processing daily, weekly, and monthly bookkeeping, and preparing VAT returns and bank reconciliations.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of clients across multiple sectors, using accounting software such as Surf, Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero. You will also have the chance to develop your skills in payroll processing using Thesaurus or BrightPay.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent organisational skills, a high level of attention to detail, and strong analytical abilities. You will also need to be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years' experience in a bookkeeping or payroll support role, and will be familiar with a variety of accounting and payroll platforms. They will also have advanced Excel capabilities and a strong understanding of data analysis.
Responsibilities:
* Process daily, weekly, and monthly bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
* Prepare and submit VAT returns and bank reconciliations
* Manage high-volume payrolls using Thesaurus or BrightPay
* Input and manage financial data using accounting software
* Ensure compliance with Revenue requirements and filing deadlines
Key Requirements:
* Junior Bookkeeper: 1–2 years' practice experience in a bookkeeping or payroll support role
* Comfortable using a variety of accounting and payroll platforms
* High level of attention to detail and data accuracy
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
* Senior Bookkeeper: 3–5 years' experience in a bookkeeping/payroll role within an accountancy or payroll practice
* Advanced Excel capabilities and strong understanding of data analysis
* Proven ability to manage client relationships and meet deadlines independently
