Civil Design Lead Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Civil Design Lead to join our team, working on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Ireland.
As the Civil Design Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the Design & Build team, leading the civil/structural design for various projects including pumping stations, treatment works, pipelines, and network improvements delivered for national utilities and contracting partners through existing frameworks.
1. Prepare detailed civil and structural design solutions for a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
2. Scope and coordinate all necessary surveys: planning & ecology inputs, topographical, geotechnical, and road condition surveys.
3. Undertake site visits to assess project scope and inform design development.
4. Lead coordination with MEICA designers and manage inputs from planning and ecology teams.
5. Liaise with clients, in-house teams, other offices, and external consultants.
6. Participate in constructability reviews and support delivery teams through the design process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver design work to deadlines, both independently and within a team.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, collaborative approach.
* Excellent drafting, written, and verbal communication skills.
Requirements:
* Level 8 Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Working towards Chartership with a recognised engineering institution.
* Strong working knowledge of water and wastewater assets, standards, and specifications.
