Salary: £29,400 per annum based on 37.5 hours per week.
Location: Based in Scotland, covering Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Work arrangement: Partially remote, with some face-to-face activity across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Contract: Full Time, Fixed Term initially for 12 months.
About Fighting With Pride (FWP)
FWP is a registered charity formed in January 2020 to support LGBTQ+ Veterans, serving personnel, and their families. Founded by Caroline Paige and Craig Jones, now led by Peter Gibson, with a dedicated Board of Trustees. The organization aims to support increasing numbers of Veterans contacting us, especially following the Etherton Report.
Role Overview
You will be supporting LGBTQ+ Veterans by signposting them to welcoming organizations, developing their self-esteem, confidence, independence, and resilience, and working with organizations to promote positive LGBTQ+ inclusion. You will also highlight access to reparations schemes related to the Etherton Report.
An LGBTQ+ Veterans Community Team Manager will support you, along with the FWP Executive team.
Candidate Profile
* Interest in and understanding of challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ Veterans community (or related communities).
* Experience in supporting and developing service users.
* Strong relationship-building skills.
* Self-starter with a passion for helping people.
