This position is a hybrid position based in our new state of the art Head Office in Maynooth – an open plan office, with wonderful collaborative working areas, subsidised canteen, EV charging points, and is easily accessible by car or public transport.
The Senior Financial Accountant oversees a portfolio of entities within the group and plays a key role in supporting and participating in the monthly, half‑year and annual consolidation and statutory reporting processes. This is a specified purpose contract to cover maternity leave on the team.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Month End
Manage a portfolio of entities within the group, ensuring the completion of all month‑end activities and the preparation of accurate, timely management reports.
Responsibility for revenue recognition on forward fund and construction contracts.
Support the group’s reporting processes.
Statutory, Governance & Compliance
Coordinate and participate in the drafting of single entity financial statements.
Participate in half‑year and year‑end reporting, including the preparation of financial statements.
Liaise with the group’s internal and external auditors.
Assist in the preparation of the annual report, the coordination and response to internal audit reviews and the maintenance and update of the risk register.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Support the annual and quarterly budgeting and reforecasting processes.
Partner with departments across the business, providing insightful analysis on margin, overhead and capital expenditure variances.
Collaborate with various teams to ensure efficient task completion and alignment with financial objectives.
Other
Review and enhance processes to streamline financial reporting and improve controls.
Contribute to finance‑related projects as required.
Uphold a professional image for the company in all interactions with the public and stakeholders.
Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications
ACA/ACCA qualified
Experience and good understanding of the construction industry desirable
Previous experience in preparing management accounts
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Solver an advantage
Use of tools like Claude and Co‑pilot to streamline tasks desirable
Ability to work across several workstreams and meet strict deadlines

Proven aptitude to collaborate with other people essential
