Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Clinical Lead
Location: Newmarket
Contract: Full Time or Part Time; Role Type: Permanent; Working hours per week: 40; Salary: Competitive, to be discussed at interview (up to £180,000 per annum).

The Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated, caring individual to join the company as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Clinical Lead.
In this role, you will combine clinical expertise with strategic acumen and inspiring leadership to develop and oversee the delivery of the very best care across this growing service. You will also provide remote governance and psychiatric oversight of our satellite homes within the Specialist Mental Health Services division.
You are committed to supporting your professional development, including internal peer network opportunities, and will lead on all aspects of clinical practice, serving as an example of operational excellence.
You will contribute to, and influence the development of our therapeutic framework (STEP/Sensory & Supportive, Totally Inclusive, Enabling, Progressive) including our trauma‑informed & trauma‑responsive Clinical Model.
Working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, you must be able to show initiative, demonstrate clear decision‑making and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Develop and oversee delivery of high‑quality care across the service.
Provide remote governance and psychiatric oversight of satellite homes.
Lead on all aspects of clinical practice and model operational excellence.
Contribute to the therapeutic framework and trauma‑responsive Clinical Model.
Demonstrate initiative, clear decision‑making, and leadership within a multi‑disciplinary team.
Qualifications and Requirements
MRCPsych
Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or equivalent
Full General Medical Council registration
On the Specialist Register for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Approved Clinician status (Section 12, Mental Health Act)
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a busy environment
Evidence of good multi‑disciplinary team working while being the sole psychiatric practitioner on site
Driving licence and/or ability to travel between sites
