Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Building Materials Coordinator to oversee the purchasing, stock management, and coordination of heavy building materials. This role involves handling customer inquiries, managing sales representative relations, processing quotations and orders, and possibly managing a small ledger of accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversight of procurement and stock management of heavy building materials.
* Maintenance of optimal stock levels, monitoring usage and reordering materials as necessary.
* Liaising with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery of goods.
* Conducting regular inventory checks and managing stock discrepancies.
* Coordination with the accounts team to ensure payment terms are met and invoices are processed correctly.
* Serving as the primary point of contact for customers via phone and email, addressing inquiries, complaints, and providing product information.
* Processing customer orders, ensuring timely order fulfillment and accurate documentation.
* Assistance in preparing quotations and sales proposals for customers, working closely with sales reps to provide competitive pricing.
* Collaboration with sales representatives to discuss new orders, delivery schedules, and special customer requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the heavy building materials or construction industry.
* A strong understanding of inventory management and stock control.
* Excellent communication skills, enabling effective engagement with customers, sales representatives, and internal teams.
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in the building materials or construction supply industry, ideally in a supervisory role.
* Experience handling quotations, orders, and customer communications is essential.
