Responsibilities
Understand the drinking water treatment process and perform routine operational duties
Calibrate, verify and service instrumentation
Carry out maintenance tasks and basic mechanical repairs
Monitor process, analyse data, complete record sheets and take process samples
Conduct on‑site laboratory analysis and optimise processes
Work outside in all weather conditions and perform heavy manual work as required
Operate equipment, control systems and SCADA programmes
Maintain general housekeeping, cleaning and grounds maintenance
Follow formal procedures, safe working methods and participate in stand‑by and call‑out rotas
Qualifications
Experience in the operation and maintenance of drinking water treatment plants (similar process experience considered)
Experience in drinking water parameter testing and process optimisation
Experience operating mechanical and electrical plant and machinery
Experience with SCADA and PLC programmes
Experience in instrumentation calibrations and servicing
Qualification in instrumentation and/or science disciplines is advantageous
Computer literacy, ability to use spreadsheets and basic computer programmes
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and collaborative skills
Good English reading and interpersonal communication skills
