Postdoctoral Research Fellow for Sustainable Dairy Farming
This position is a research-focused training role designed to provide early career scientists with the opportunity to develop their research skills and competencies. The primary purpose of this fellowship is to support the development of decision support tools for non-antibiotic dry cow strategies.
Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated researcher with an interest in modelling and development of decision support tools. You will be part of a team working on a project aimed at reducing antimicrobial use at dry-off in dairy farms. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Developing models to predict the impact of farm management practices on the outcome of non-antibiotic dry cow therapy.
2. Collaborating with researchers, stakeholders, farmers, and industry partners to ensure successful implementation of the project's work plan.
3. Disseminating knowledge generated to the scientific and farming communities.
Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must have a PhD in Veterinary epidemiology or a related field. You should have relevant research experience not exceeding 3 years post-PhD. Strong research and technical expertise in data analysis, simulation models, and machine learning is required. Additionally, you should have excellent project management, analytical, report writing, and data analysis skills.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary scale of €44,128 to €48,411. This is a temporary post-doctoral appointment with an indicative duration of 35.5 months. A full driving license is required.
