Mechanical Supervisor - Construction
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Supervisor to join our team on-site. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) activities, ensuring project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
1. Attend onsite progress meetings and generate weekly reports on progress achieved.
2. Adhere to the Construction Programme and onsite deliverables for Electrical Services.
3. Support the organization and coordination of site-based activities.
4. Lead and coordinate teams of Mechanical Engineering trades on site.
5. Track and record daily site activities and construction progress.
6. Ensure teams deliver quality work on time, within budget, safely, and efficiently.
7. Address obstacles and challenges promptly and develop team capacity.
8. Support M&E Coordination / BIM processes.
9. Manage Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Welfare requirements as per the Project EHS Plan.
10. Oversee personnel timekeeping, wages, discipline, and work assignments using the onsite clocking system.
11. Organize and manage labor and specialist subcontractors.
12. Maintain proactive client relationships during project delivery.
13. Liaise with clients, staff, management, suppliers, and subcontractors.
14. Manage materials, workmanship, costs, and procurement on site.
15. Collaborate closely with the CJK Project Manager within the project team.
16. Possess knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical systems, onsite coordination, setting out, installation, and construction.
17. Participate in coordination meetings and develop communication skills.
18. Conduct system walkdowns for compliance and workmanship standards.
19. Ensure Mechanical Systems are inspected, tested, and commissioned correctly.
20. Maintain Quality Management standards as per project specifications and the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
Previous Experience / Qualifications
* Minimum of two years’ post-qualification Mechanical trades experience on site.
* Mechanical Trades exam completed (SOLAS) – FETAC Level 6 (Fitter / Plumber).
* Knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC, Building Services, Utilities, Piping systems.
* Ability to interpret schematics and mechanical drawings.
* Capable of working independently.
* Understanding of Tender Documents and Mechanical scope of works.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD / Navisworks.
* Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, including BCAR 2014.
Full-time position, based on site. Remuneration depends on experience. Working hours are 45 hours per week (39 hours basic, with overtime as required).
