About the role This position oversees and directs production staff during the shift.
The primary goal of this position is to lead the manufacturing staff to achieve production targets while maintaining a safe and efficient operation and producing products to established quality standards.
The success of this position will include coordinating production activities with warehouse, maintenance, and quality control departments to achieve sustained efficiencies.
The position will include online implementation and compliance of new and existing policies and procedures.
Supervise the day-to-day activities of the production floor to ensure operations align with scheduled timelines and quality standards.
Ensure daily production targets are achieved Monitor production metrics and implement necessary process improvements for increased efficiency and reduced downtime.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager and other departments for production planning and resource allocation.
Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
Lead, mentor, and develop production staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
Address any operational issues promptly to minimize disruptions in the production process.
Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to ensure all equipment is operational.
Maintain food safety & quality assurance standards in line with BRC.
Other ad hoc duties as required.
Experience: Proven experience within a manufacturing environment Experience in food manufacturing or related field is preferred Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and practices Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of food manufacturing processes Ability to analyse production data to drive performance improvements.
Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards within the food manufacturing industry Skills: Training & Development Health & Safety Leadership/Management Skills Production Planning Quality Assurance communication skills.
