The PGA Teaching Professional will be a crucial role within the Druids Glen service model. The Teaching Professional will develop and execute group and individual tuition for members and guests of the club. Responsibilities include all on-site tuition and supporting the development of the club team, daily standards, and management of the coaching facility.
The role involves generating interest in golf among stakeholders, educational institutions, sporting organizations, and other parties in line with the Club's vision.
Implement departmental standards and operating procedures for golf coaching.
Operationally responsible for managing the coaching facility and personal lesson diary.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
STRATEGY & PLANNING
Set clear personal and operational objectives aligned with the Club's Vision and Mission.
Support strategies that promote golf among members, guests, and juniors.
Plan time effectively to balance quality service and departmental profitability.
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
Implement policies and procedures, attend training, and assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.
Manage coaching staff and coordinate coaching programs and services.
Recommend equipment, attend meetings, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and work with the Golf Operations team to meet goals.
Implement marketing initiatives, maintain health and safety standards, and ensure environmental and quality controls.
REPORTING & MONITORING
Review performance during monthly meetings, monitor coaching volume, and review feedback for continuous improvement.
Compare financial performance to budgets and aim for increased member and guest coaching volumes.
Achieve milestones and targets outlined in the business plan.
The job holder should be highly visible, accessible, and uphold high standards of ethics and integrity.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Recognized PGA or similar qualification, university or higher education, and at least 5 years of recognized golf instruction experience.
Advanced professional accreditation preferred; regional experience is a plus.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Excellent communication, expertise in golf coaching programs, deep knowledge of golf swings, commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to represent the organization internationally.
Highly organized, energetic, with a professional demeanor and customer service orientation.
