Job Role
The Line Equipment Technician is a key function in the successful operation of manufacturing lines, requiring technical expertise to equipment issue resolution while maintaining optimal product output.
The technician will own the downtime metrics and product yields, maintaining these to target through effective monitoring and analysis of processes and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of equipment performance and reliability to achieve zero downtime for equipment faults through proactive management.
* A continuous improvement mindset is required, focusing on process optimization and efficiency improvements.
* Constantly evaluate equipment and process inputs/outputs to ensure optimal product performance and take corrective action before impacting uptime or yield.
* Complete routine maintenance tasks on time and identify areas for improvement to enhance equipment performance.
* Identify requirements for jigs and fixtures to improve workstation efficiency and carry out improvements through the approval process with supporting data.
* Ensure tooling, including mandrels and trim fixtures, are available when required and in good working order.
* Implement efficient consumable spares management systems to minimize downtime.
* Support the onboarding process for new technician hires as needed.
* Be competent in manufacturing processes and identify Accept and Reject samples for all steps, understanding the intended use of products and defect impact on functionality.
* Continually review manufacturing processes for improper application of work methods and equipment settings.
* Communicate promptly and effectively regarding equipment and process issues with clear plans for resolution based on data.
* Provide support for equipment introduction and maintain accurate up-to-date documentation.
Requirements:
* Level 6 or higher in Engineering or equivalent (preferably Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering).
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical role in a similar field, with demonstrated expertise in automated equipment maintenance an advantage.
* Ability to troubleshoot complex machine faults using electrical and pneumatic system knowledge and resolve these issues.
