Safety and Environmental Specialist
We are seeking an experienced professional to provide technical guidance on environmental health and safety matters. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with legal requirements, company standards, policies, and industry best practices.
The key duties and responsibilities include:
**Developing and Implementing EHS Programs**: Developing risk assessments, contractor management plans, incident investigation procedures, emergency response protocols, chemical management systems, waste management strategies, water and air management processes, ergonomics programs, bio-risk control measures, equipment and machine safety guidelines, industrial hygiene practices, and high-risk work procedures such as hot work, confined space entry, and work at height.
**Leadership and Reporting**: Demonstrating leadership and a strong desire to protect employees, the community, and the environment. Preparing reports for site, divisional, and corporate management, as well as regulatory agencies. Evaluating all EHS applicable requirements for new projects and processes.
**Requirements**: A Technical Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field is required. A Post-graduate EHS qualification is preferred. Ideally, 3+ years of experience in EHS within a highly regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals. Proven track record of success in the environmental health and safety sector. Strong understanding of various EHS topics, innovative, and compliance-minded. Team player with ability to lead teams, enthusiastic, self-directed, and results-driven.
