Position Overview The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
This position requires strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities, with welding experience considered an asset.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technician who can take initiative, provide technical guidance to peers, and help maintain smooth, reliable operations across the factory.
Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on bakery machinery and facility systems to minimise downtime.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
Repair and maintain equipment, including motors, conveyors, ovens, mixers, and packaging systems.
Support equipment installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and ensure compliance with all safety procedures.
Assist in coordinating daily maintenance priorities and provide direction or guidance to other maintenance team members or contractors as needed.
Collaborate closely with production and quality teams to ensure smooth operations and consistent product quality.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
Qualifications Degree in Mechanical and Electrical engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance within a food production, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
Strong proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; PLC familiarity is an asset.
Experience mentoring or guiding junior technicians or contractors preferred.
Welding or fabrication skills are considered an asset.
Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
Flexibility to work weekends or extended hours when required.
