Your mission at LINDAL
This position is to lead a newly created Engineering Department incorporating new product and process development, process optimization/improvement, and environment functions. The candidate will be responsible for investments in manufacturing machinery, tooling, and other production equipment, based on the principles of "right-sizing" to achieve optimal flexibility with minimal investment and reduced risk of write-off losses due to changes in demand patterns and/or technology, while capitalizing on new technologies.
The candidate will manage and direct a team of highly qualified employees and participate in projects supporting Litec Moulding Limited and LINDAL Group activities. They will interface with other members of LINDAL Group’s Management Team daily.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as Strategic Manager for multiple technologies, including all local site services (air, water, electricity).
2. Develop and implement systems, procedures, and protocols to meet Quality Management System and Design Control requirements.
3. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations regarding Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality systems.
4. Develop and implement a comprehensive asset management system, including maintenance functions.
5. Identify and select the best value technologies.
6. Prepare annual operational and capital expenditure budgets.
7. Manage budgets, hiring, daily operations, and project resourcing.
8. Deliver profitable, on-time product/project launches.
9. Prioritize and execute multiple complex department projects, supporting value improvements.
10. Ensure efficient transfer of process knowledge from project teams to manufacturing engineers and coordinate training on new processes and equipment.
11. Foster a continuous improvement environment aligned with customer quality policies.
12. Initiate cross-functional partnerships to resolve production/engineering issues.
13. Manage and develop personnel, ensuring adequate training to meet operational and safety standards.
Your profile
Technical Skills & Qualifications
* Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years in a manufacturing senior role.
* Organized, motivated, enthusiastic, with a goal-oriented attitude; experienced in project management and resource management in high-volume manufacturing.
* Technically skilled, numerate, with strong analytical abilities.
* Team player with quality focus and innovative problem-solving skills, with a "Right first time" approach.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
* Knowledge of plastic injection moulding, metal stamping, automation technology, and technology deployment.
* Understanding of quality standards like PSW/PPAP/APQP and lean principles.
* Strong business and financial acumen.
