Role Software Design Engineer
Job Description Software Design engineer with a knowledge of power electronics.
Minimum Experience: 3 Years
Qualifications: Third Level Degree
Roles & Responsibilities:
Work as part of a team that designs & develops the software packages for the Intepro Power Electronics Test
Stations.
Windows based application development
o Design and development of core
o Real time hardware control
o Test System instrument control
o MFC Application development
Design and development of software from concept to release whilst ensuring that the design
o Meets performance specifications, cost & reliability targets
o Complies with required regulatory standards
Liaising with cross-functional team (Manufacturing and Quality engineering) to facilitate the design process.
Interfacing directly with customers to determine requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
Participation in internal design reviews
Design Verification Testing
Technical Report writing
Engineering Change Order/Notice generation
Requirements
Proficient in windows based C/C++ development using Visual Studio.
Knowledge of Visual Basic.
The successful candidate will need to be capable of delivering to project milestones and providing regular
progress updates
Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
3+ years relevant experience in software design.
Knowledge of basic electronics including test and measurement instrument control.
Self motivation, initiative and drive.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to write and analyse design documentation.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
Experience of working with, and controlling test and measurement instrumentation. I,e controlling DMM,
Oscilloscope, AC/DC sources, Function Generators etc via software.
Experience of LabView / LabWindows
Experience of firmware development at a micro processor level.
Project management skills
Database Design & implementation
Phyton experience
