JOB SUMMARY
The Orbital Welder is responsible for performing high-precision welding using orbital welding equipment, primarily on stainless steel piping systems used in regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and biomedical manufacturing. This role requires a strong understanding of welding procedures, cleanroom protocols, and industry standards. The Orbital Welder will work closely with engineers, fabricators, and quality teams to ensure weld integrity, cleanliness, and compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities.
· Set up and operate orbital welding equipment for the welding of stainless-steel tubing and piping systems.
· Interpret and work from isometric drawings, P&IDs, and welding documentation.
· Perform welds to high-purity standards, ensuring compliance with ASME BPE, EN, or other relevant codes.
· Conduct visual inspections and assist with weld documentation, traceability, and quality control.
· Work in cleanroom or controlled environments, adhering to GMP and hygiene protocols.
· Collaborate with pipefitters and fabricators in the assembly of skids, vessels, and process systems.
· Maintain welding equipment and ensure calibration and cleanliness of tools and fixtures.
· Follow all health and safety procedures, including the use of PPE and safe work practices.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training as required.
· Carry out work at heights and in confined spaces.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Certification/Experience in orbital welding or pipe welding (e.g., TIG/GTAW).
* Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or welding/fabrication training programme (Solas-approved preferred).
* Valid welding certifications to industry standards (e.g., EN ISO 9606-1, ASME IX) are an advantage.

Travel Requirements:
