Graduate Data Engineer, Analytics Team (2 Year Fixed Term Contract)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Data Engineer within our Analytics Team at Colgate‑Palmolive. Reporting to a Senior Data Engineer.
The role will focus on implementing and orchestrating scalable data pipelines that deliver reliable and consistent data to Data Analysts and Data Scientists for use in dashboards and models, driving insights for growth for our business partners. The position will also work with cross‑functional teams to gather, wrangle, cleanse, structure, and build data products that support Commercial Analytics needs and build and maintain the foundational data analytics infrastructure that enables those use cases.
Responsibilities
Implement and orchestrate scalable data pipelines that deliver reliable and consistent data to Data Analysts and Data Scientists.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather, wrangle, cleanse, structure, and build data products for Commercial Analytics use cases.
Build and maintain the foundational data analytics infrastructure that supports and enables Commercial Analytics models and dashboards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
Self‑motivated and able to work independently and within a team.
Basic proficiency in core programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ and a good understanding of software engineering principles.
Solid SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring, and data logic.
Familiarity with data pipeline, modeling, and workflow management tools in cloud environments (such as GCP, AWS).
Basic proficiency in data visualization techniques & tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau, DOMO, or Sigma.
Intermediate knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets (standard functions – aggregation, pivots, look‑ups, etc.).
Ability to collaborate using Google Suite tools is an advantage.
Willingness and ability to experiment and learn new tools and techniques, including leveraging AI for IT and problem solving.
Attention to detail and a penchant for accuracy.
Strong time management, organizational skills, and self‑motivation.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity in business requirements, technology options, and direction.
Travel
Travel required: up to 10% of time.
