Responsibilities
- Technical Design Lead
1. Lead and coordinate design teams, including Architecture, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, Fire, Security, ICT, and BMS/EPMS
2. Manage the full design lifecycle of data centre projects, from planning through to concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction documentation
3. Own the design journey from early site assessments and campus planning through concept, detailed design, and construction documentation
4. Act as a trusted technical partner to clients, leading workshops, presentations, and design reviews
5. Making sure designs are technically robust, as well as practical, buildable, and aligned with programme and budget expectations
6. Collaborate closely with local delivery teams to ensure compliance with local codes, permitting, and regulatory requirements
7. Spotting risks early and working collaboratively to solve problems before they become escalated
Requirements - Technical Design Lead
8. Chartered Engineer or Architect (or equivalent) with Data Centre backing
9. Confidence to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams and taking ownership of complex design challenges
10. Demonstrable experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams on complex technical projects
11. Strong knowledge of building systems, compliance, and construction methodologies within mission critical environments
12. Working knowledge of Revit and digital design workflows
13. A confident communicator who enjoys working directly with clients and senior stakeholders
14. Flexible to travel across the UK and Europe as required by projects
